Boston-based General Electric (NYSE: GE) could recall 225 workers to its Fort Worth locomotive manufacturing facility six months after laying off more than 200, GE Transportation Chief Executive Officer Jamie Miller told Bloomberg.
This comes in wake of the company potentially eliminating up to 575 jobs from its Erie, Pennsylvania locomotive plant. While there will still be some manufacturing services carried out in Erie, that site will mostly be focused on engineering and design, Miller said.
