Texas Rail Advocates is leading the way in securing funding for a ridership study of the South Central High Speed Rail Corridor serving the states of Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.

This study is the first step in a corridor development plan for a higher speed route to facilitate frequent passenger trains as well as container and general merchandise freight trains.

Our two senators and those congressional delegates whose districts are along the corridor are being asked to request an appropriation for the U.S. Department of Transportation to fund the study.

The three states will together match the federal appropriation. The study, which will not only determine ridership levels but also route variances, will take about two years to complete.
