October 13, 2026 - TRA Newswire -
Texas Rail Advocates announces that the 23rd annual Southwestern Rail Conference will be held Monday, April 5 and Tuesday, April 6, 2027 at the Hurst Texas Conference Center.
This premier all-rail conference, the only one of its kind in Texas, focuses on both freight and passenger rail issues and brings together attendees from both the public and private sector.
At the 2026 Southwestern Rail Conference, those in attendance heard news from the Federal Railroad Administration, the Surface Transportation Board, Texas Department of Transportation, Union Pacific's Executive Vice-President, discussions on two new Texas rail grant programs, passenger rail success stories, planned and future urban and corridor rail projects, short line railroad development plans, and a legislative briefing on state affairs. You will not find this much valuable rail information packed into a 1 1/2 day conference anywhere else in the Lone Star state.
In 2027, the Texas legislature will be in session and bills are expected to be filed that can affect freight and passenger rail projects in the state. You'll want to know the latest and stay informed at the Southwestern Rail Conference.
Mark the dates down now, watch for announcements later this fall when registration opens and take advantage of discounted "Early Bird" fees for both the conference and the host hotel.
Sponsorships for the 2027 Southwestern Rail Conference will be open soon and information will be available on the event website page.
The Hurst Conference Center is conveniently located in the Dallas-Fort Worth mid-cities, just minutes from DFW International Airport.
