Ironhorse Resources, Inc. has announced a long-term partnership with Kraus Development to serve as the railroad developer and operator for the 2,000-acre master-planned Gateway Rail Industrial Park. The rail park is located within Kraus Development’s Gateway Industrial Park north of Laredo, Texas.
Ironhorse and Kraus join a growing list of companies formed to create master-planned industrial rail parks across Texas to serve multiple industries and businesses co-located with access to Class 1 railroads.
The collaboration, according to a news release from Ironhorse, aims to enhance the region’s truck to rail logistics and provide seamless rail connectivity between Mexican and U.S. markets. The project will support global trade and U.S. distribution and manufacturing through Laredo, named the United States’ largest port of entry for goods in 2024.
Gateway’s development will be located at the intersection of IH-35 and SH 255, offers space for distribution centers, dry and cold storage, manufacturing, construction, energy and produce sectors. The park features direct short line rail access to Union Pacific Railroad and required utilities including water, sewer, electricity and natural gas. (GATEWAYTEXAS.COM)

“Ironhorse brings unparalleled expertise in rail development, operations and cross-border solutions, making them the ideal partner for our Laredo project,” stated Kurt Kraus, Founder and CEO of Kraus Development. “Their proven track record ensures that our future tenants will benefit from reliable rail service, allowing them to efficiently connect with rail and enhancing their ability to compete in the US and Global markets”.
The Gateway Rail Industrial Park is poised to be a central hub for trade and industry in one of Texas’ fastest-growing regions.
