BNSF now has three logistic centers under its wing in Texas, with the newest terminal opening last month north of Houston in Cleveland.
The railroad touts the 1,200 acre facility to prospective industrial tenants as "shovel ready to a BNSF rail-served site... saving time and cost in development."
BNSF says it can reduce by nine months the time it takes to develop a site with fully-permitted properties in place.
The North Houston BNSF Logistics Center joins company-owned centers now in operation in the west Texas city of Sweetwater and north Texas town of Gunter, with additional terminals in California, Colorado and Oklahoma City.
The rail hubs offer direct rail service with numerous sizes of sites in the rail park to a variety of shippers. Rail infrastructure, including mainline turnouts, industry common track and inner roads, are already in place. The facilities are designed to serve both manifest mixed freight and unit train single commodity customers, according to BNSF.
The logistics center is near Interstate 69 and Texas highway 105. The Class 1 railroad acquired the property in 2018, broke ground in 2021 and actively started construction in 2022.
Two leases are already active, totaling 110 acres. Companies interested in locating on the property can contact Zack Baker at 817-593-5297 or through bnsf.com/rail-development
