Officials are continuing efforts to examine options for expanding public transit in order to better connect residents in Fort Bend County with central parts of Houston.

A study by the Houston-Galveston Area Council (HGAC), in partnership with the Gulf Coast Rail Authority, has come up with three potential routes for a corridor to offer expanded public transportation options for commuters in areas like Rosenberg, Richmond, Sugar Land and Missouri City.

"That could be bus rapid transit, that could be light rail, that could be commuter bus," Thomas Gray, HGAC's principal transportation planner, told KHOU 11. 

On Wednesday night, the HGAC held a public meeting to update people on the study and hear feedback.
