February 13, 2026 - TRA Newswire -

The season opener weekend for the Grapevine Vintage Railroad is February 21 and 22, according to Randall Sweet with the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau.

The heritage railroad departs from the downtown Grapevine station on the Cotton Belt Route excursion and ends at the historic Stockyards in Fort Worth.

The train excursion features vintage coaches with ambiance, engaging onboard entertainment and a relaxed way to enjoy the charm and heritage of vintage Texas rail travel. Concessions and adult beverages are available for purchase onboard.

After arriving in the Historic Stockyards, riders have time to explore the Stockyards, where the spirit of the Old West comes to life with a daily cattle drive, thrilling shootouts and immersive attractions like the Cowtown Museum and the Livestock Exchange Museum. After exploring the Stockyards, passengers re-board the train for the return excursion to Grapevine.

You might catch a variety of trains on the route as Grapevine Vintage Railroad share rails with TEXRail, freight trains and Amtrak.

The train will run most Saturdays and Sundays from February through Novembe and also most Fridays in June and July as well as the first Friday of August.

The excursion starts with check in at the Cotton Belt Depot starting at 11:30am with a return to Grapevine around 7:10pm.

Touring class tickets are $22 with first class seats starting at $26. Ambassador Class is $72 and is a one bench-style seat for two people.

Infants and toddlers who haven’t celebrated their 4th birthday get complimentary tickets, but must ride in an adult’s lap.

Groups of more than 12 seats or private coach availability should call 817.410.314 for group pricing.

Grapevine Vintage Railroad online ticket sales end at 8:30 a.m. before each day's excursion. Tickets may be available at the ticket booth on the day of the excursion, but availability is not guaranteed. It’s recommended to call 817.410.3185 to verify availability if you are looking to purchase same-day tickets.
