The first international passenger train between the U.S. and Mexico could become reality right here in south Texas.
Congressman Henry Cuellar says we're closer than ever to seeing a high-speed passenger rail line that links San Antonio to Monterrey.
He's been pushing for this project since 2008.
He calls it an economic game-changer, shrinking a commute that many already make from five hours down to two.
"If you talk to Sea World, Fiesta Texas, they love the idea because you've got millions of individuals from Monterrey who are already spending money at La Cantera," said Cuellar. "They're already spending a lot of money here."
