(Austin) - The Houston Chronicle is reporting that state regulators have issued a permit that will allow Kansas City Southern Railway Co. to build a rail and marine terminal in Port Arthur for crude oil, gasoline, ethanol and diesel. During a hearing Tuesday morning in Austin, commissioners with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality issued Kansas City Southern a permit for a facility along the 7200 block of Texas 87 in Port Arthur.

(Corpus Christi) - Energy company POTAC LLC (Pin Oak) announced it acquired 236 acres for expansion near its terminal in Corpus Christi, Texas. The site — which is next to a Kansas City Southern mainline and Corpus Christi rail yard — can accommodate more than 10 million barrels of bulk liquids storage, as well as the construction and operation of a full unit train, Pin Oak officials said in a press release.

(Monahans) - A new rail transload terminal facility in Texas designed to improve delivery of frac sand to the Midland and Delaware basins is now operational, the site’s owner, Vista Proppants and Logistics LLC, announced Wednesday.  Vista said the development of the new rail transload terminal stems from a dramatic uptick in proppant sand production within West Texas and need to reduce traffic created by commercial vehicles delivering the products to oil and gas firms operating in the Permian Basin.
