A unique partnership has been developed between Southern Dallas County Inland Port Transit Association (IPTMA) and transportation agencies to benefit the 30,000 workers at hundreds of employers throughout the industrial complex. The Inland Port is home to Union Pacific's sprawling Dallas Intermodal Terminal.

A newly hired Executive Director of the IPTMA, Laura Freeland, will work with its board and member companies to provide transportation solutions. Those include access to Dallas Area Rapid Transit’s light-rail system, for employers and employees in the Southern Dallas County Inland Port area. Her previous experience was in the airline industry.

Transit options are now being provided by DART's demand shared ride services within the Inland Port area and a late night rider assistance program through Uber that underwrites part of ride costs. DART and Uber apps can be used to book transportation for the respective services.

Connections are available to DART light rail and bus services as well as Star Transit in Desoto and Hutchins.
