Synergos and TXGN Railway

Synergos, a company that offers one-stop building materials from major manufacturers, closed on 28 acres of prime rail-served property next to Texas Gonzales and Northern Railway (TXGN), a subsidiary of Dallas-based TNW Corporation. TXGN owns and manages 12 lead miles of track between Harwood and Gonzales, and approximately 67 miles of storage and loop track in Gonzales, located in Central Texas. Synergos plans to construct a Structural Building Material Operation on the site, with plans to create up to 145 new jobs in the community. The project results from a collaborative effort between Synergos, TXGN, the Gonzales Economic Development Corporation (EDC), the City and County of Gonzales, and GVEC.

Union Tank Car Company and 225 Rail

Union Tank Car Company (UTLX) announced a strategic partnership with 225 Rail that will serve shippers and railcar owners along the Houston Ship Channel.

UTLX is the largest manufacturer of tank cars, and also leases and repairs tank cars. It's a subsidiary of Marmon Rail/Berkshire Hathaway. 

225 Rail is located on the south side of the Houston Ship Channel in Pasadena, Texas. 225 Rail Terminals has over 1,500 storage spots along with an 80 car transload aisle. Served by the Port Terminal Railroad Association (PTRA), their customers have access to Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF), Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC), and Union Pacific (UP).

Alterra acquires Dallas rail-served property

Alterra IOS, a player in the industrial outdoor storage (IOS) sector that has acquired over 300 sites nationwide, announced the acquisition of a Dallas rail-served parcel.

The purchase at 8738 Forney Road represents 10.1 usable acres with 14,100 square feet of accompanying warehouse space. The fully paved, rail-served site is located eight miles from downtown Dallas, providing access to I-30 and I-635. The parcel is fully leased to a national distributor of specialty building materials.
