Texas State Railroad offers special Sunday fares for families

The Texas State Railroad wants to help create lasting memories by offering three discounted train rides for families to enjoy this summer. Sunday Funday Matinees are scheduled for August 14 and September 18.
Trains depart at 11am from the Rusk Depot for a roundtrip ride through the East Texas forest country to Palestine and back.
Guests get one child’s ticket (ages 2-12) free for every adult ticket purchased. Children under age two are considered lap babies and ride for free.
Those using the promo code FUNMAT16 will get to upgrade to the next class of seating when booking tickets online or by phone.
Seating classes include:
• Open Standard: Adult $32 | Child $20
• Lone Star: Adult $65 | Child $40
• Diamond: Adult $85 | Child $60
Standard class guests have a concession stand available for purchasing snacks and drinks. Lone Star and Diamond Class guests receive complimentary snacks and drinks served by attendants.
The Daily Grind will be offering box lunches for sale. Advance orders can be placed by calling 903-683-1500. Box lunches can also be purchased the day of the train ride.
