Union Pacific plans to invest an estimated $90 million to expand operations at the company’s Port Laredo Intermodal Ramp in North Laredo.
Brenda Mainwaring, vice president of public affairs for the Omaha-based freight railroad company’s southern region, announced the news Wednesday during the 22nd annual Logistics and Manufacturing Symposium at Texas A&M International University.
Mainwaring, whose region includes Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas, said Laredo in particular deserves the extra investment.
