Viterra, a global network that connects producers to consumers, announced the groundbreaking at a new grain facility in the Texas panhandle town of Dalhart.

The plant's grain handling system will be served with a new loop track served by Union Pacific Railroad once it is completed in mid-2026.

Plans for the grain facility first were announced in June 2024.  Viterra has more than 265 storage and handling facilities in 15 countries. In the United States, it has 83 storage facilities with a licensed capacity of 273 million bushels, according to Sosland Publishing Co.’s 2024 Grain & Milling Annual.

Viterra is in the process ofmerging with Bunge Global SA, which would create one of the world’s largest agribusiness companies, moving it closer in size and scope to leading agribusiness giants Cargill and ADM.
