Dallas-based TNW Corporation, operator of short line railroads and logistics facilities, announced a strategic alliance with Easy Recycling Services to expand rail offerings at its Texas North Western Railway (TXNW) line in the Texas panhandle city of Sunray.
Easy Recycling is a certified industrial scrap company providing railcar scrapping services for old, disused equipment. Their presence at XNW will allow for acceptance of a wide variety of railcars that require end of life processing.
When asked about the collaboration, Cheryl Hart, TNW Director of Sales and Marketing, said, “TNW and Easy Recycling understand the importance of providing efficient and streamlined solutions for fleet management. This alliance further elevates the range of one-stop-shop services we provide to our customers.”
TNW officials said in a news release that on-site car cleaning operations and extensive storage space coupled with Easy Recycling’s scrapping services will provide customers a single location for certain rail-car needs. TXNW has offered short line services to customers in the Texas panhandle since 1982.
Easy Recycling CEO Morgan Spicer commented, “This unique opportunity for Easy Recycling Services and TNW to partner at the Sunray, Texas storage complex provides a turnkey customer experience. The on-site TNW car cleaning operations and extensive storage space coupled with Easy Recycling’s end of life railcar scrapping services allow customers to have a single location for profitable end of life solutions. We are very pleased with this strategic alliance and excited to offer these additional services to our customers.”
TXNW interchanges with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad (BNSF) and provides railcar storage, repair, transport and transload services to national, regional and local customers. TXNW has the largest private car storage capacity in the United States.
TNW also operates short line railroads in Central Texas. TXR, Texas Rock Crusher Railway in Central Texas and Texas Gonzales and Northern (TXGN) are branch lines that were spun off from Class 1 railroads over 30 years ago.
TXR interchanges with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad (BNSF) and serves the Brownwood, Texas Camp Bowie Industrial Area, a 100-acre facility that houses the city’s major manufacturers and service providers. Located midway between Gonzales and Harwood, off U.S. I-10, TXGN owns and/or manages 12 lead miles of track between Harwood and Gonzales, and approximately 67 miles of storage and loop track.
